COB - A Weekend Food Bag Program
Carry On Bags (COB) is a nonprofit organization that was formed to address the problem of food insecurity for preschool through 12th grade students in Jefferson County, Iowa. We offer bags with snacks and simple meals that allow children to "carry on" without school meals over weekends and during school breaks. The bags are offered to all students in the Fairfield Community School District and Maharishi School (MSAE). All information is kept confidential between COB and the school. Click the link below to sign up for the COB Program.
Carry On Bags was started in 2014. Because of generous donations from our community, we were able to successfully provide food for the entire 2014/15 school and up through the current school year, 2024/2025.
Carry On Bags meets approximately every two weeks to bag food with the helping hands of a local business, church or service organization.
If you would like your group to assist with bagging one week during the school year, please send an email to: carryonbags52556@gmail.com to get your group in the rotation. Monetary donations are a great way to get involved too!
